CurrentBody RF Device: My BEFORE/AFTER on Jowls!

Wow, it's been a very long time since I've posted on here! I hope you're all well!

I wanted to chat to you all about the CurrentBody RF device, RF stands for Radio Frequency and it's a scientifically proven technology that converts RF waves into heat, thus encouraging collagen and elastin production in the skin. What does that mean? Well, a tightening effect.

When CurrentBody reached out to me in March to review this device, I was excited but a bit skeptical. I know RF works as I've had in-clinic treatments before, but I didn't have an at home device down for being as powerful (and therefore, as good).

They advise to use the device once a week for 5 minutes per area, avoiding the thyroid. They recommend a minimum of 8 sessions to see a result (8 weeks).

Since turning 40 really, I've noticed some looseness in the skin around my jawline, with 'pre-jowls' starting to show. As such, I thought I'd try targeting this area as a primary. I will say, I have NOT been using the device for 5 minutes per area, instead my results are from using the tool for 10 minutes per area each session.

To start, you apply the conductive gel that comes with the device. You MUST use this. The device has 3 heat settings, heating the dermis to a maximum temperature of 43 degrees C. It feels pleasant, sort of like a hot stone massage, and after, for around 20 minutes you can feel heat from deep down - but it's not horrible at all. Sort of like when you've stepped out of a sauna and your core feels warm.

The first 3 sessions I saw zero results, and I will confess I was getting worried - I wanted to see results and they weren't showing. But at week 4, something happened. I did the treatment as usual and peered into my mirror after to wipe the gel off. I actually did a double-take, my jowls had GONE. I took pictures and sent my before/afters to my friends on Whatsapp... I started getting messages back; "How did you do this?", "Where can I buy this tool?", "How long did it take for you to see those results?!"

Some aspects to consider before you think about potentially purchasing;

  • You can't use this device over areas where you've had botox or filler. Nothing bad will happen if you do, but the functionality of the device will dissolve your fillers/botox quickly (which you may not want). As such (I have botox), I avoided my forehead and eye area.
  • You can't use this device if you're pregnant
  • It works on any skin type and skin tone
  • I saw initial results after 4 weeks, but for you it might take longer (or, you might see results sooner)
  • I have noticed that in the week leading-up to my next treatment, the looseness looks like it's returning. But, the amount of looseness is better than the week before. As soon as I've done a treatment, I can see the tightening effect again (I'm guessing I'll get to a stage where the looseness goes completely)
  • When using the device, all 4 nodules need to remain in contact with the skin in order to maintain the heat. If you move the device around too quickly, you might notice it goes hot and cold! Move in slow motions, making sure not to hold the device still.

CurrentBody RF device review

All in all, I'm really impressed. I did so much research before trying this tool and frankly, I didn't see any dramatic before/after shots from others, so I wasn't expecting too much from it. I hope that my review and before/after shots are informative!
